Who would be the population assessed?
This assessment is designed for children who may be involved with dependency programs, have been deemed juvenile delinquent, experience behavioral and emotional problems or may be at-risk. Valuable information can be provided for youth of any age with recommendations offered of areas that may need to be evaluated more fully.
What is the rationale for the C-CAP?
Traditionally, assessments for children have been conducted by a variety of individuals with diverse levels of training and expertise. Past assessments have most often utilized standard psychological batteries and limited screening and psychosocial information that must be analyzed and interpreted by the recipient with little guidance for treatment and care planning.

The Comprehensive Child Assessment Program (C-CAP) has been designed by senior clinicians that have extensive backgrounds and experience in child and adolescent psychological assessments and in assessing and treating family systems. The C-CAP is a new and innovative comprehensive assessment which is based on current assessment research and evidence-based protocols, that measures a child's level of functioning across a broad range of functional domains.

The comprehensive approach of the C-CAP rests in its ability to assess all critical areas of a child's individual functioning in the context of the child's familial, socio-cultural, and educational environment.
Why use the C-CAP?
Use of the C-CAP increases internal consistency in comprehensive assessments, which yields greater reliability in results.

The C-CAP provides suggestions for needs of services, a unified plan of care and treatment goals, and concrete suggestions for facilitating those goals. Furthermore, the C-CAP predicts potential outcomes and future problem areas that may be prevented. With a single plan of care and clear service directives, based on needs and level of risk, better outcomes are expected. Portable and easily administered, assessments can be conducted in field settings.
Where can I do this testing?
Designed to be used on your desktop, laptop, in the filed, at a school, residence or office setting.
How to Obtain the C-CAP?
The C-Cap is licensed to individual organizations and the test assessors are trained and certified in the usage of this instrument. Click here for more information.
Can I bill Medicaid?
C-CAP was designed to be Medicaid compliant and is billable as a comprehensive assessment service in most states.
What kind of training is involved?
Three days of intensive training is suggested for most agency clinical staff. One-half day of technical support is included during the three days.
Is tech support offered?
One-half day of technical support training is offered during the initial training period. Most contracts include five hours of technical support thereafter. Any additional tech support needs are billed on an hourly basis.
What is included in the report writing?
Reports are generated in most word processor formats (Windows 95 and up compatible). Reports provide an immediate picture of the child and family's level of functioning. Reports are editable and easy to work with. The writing style is easy to understand and does not use on psychological jargon. Each report addresses the specific areas evaluated and can be further customized to each child/youth evaluated.
What supervisory tools are included?
Once an evaluation is begun, a supervisor may determine quickly where in the process the evaluator is, as each module has an opening date and once completed is "locked" with a reflected date.
Who should purchase the c-cap?
The C-CAP is currently designed to be licensed to an agency or institution involved in child health and welfare, including foster-care placement, family preservation or juvenile justice. Evaluators should have a master's degree and be licensed in psychology, social work or marriage and family areas. It is not currently designed for individual practitioners.
